Casa Comiteco is close to an environmental conservation area in Brazil, the Pico Belo Horizonte Landscape Set, for which the area must comply with specific legislation on altimetry and densification. The bairro, however, presents a majority of projects with little relation to the topography of the place.
House with wine-tasting in Belo Horizonte
The two Brazilian architects Marcos Franchini and Nattalia Bom Conselho created a building that follows the topography of the site and it includes a room for wine tasting.

The premise therefore adopted by Marcos Franchini and Nattalia Bom Conselho for the building is to exploit the available plot, one of the highest points of the city Belo Horizonte, and the slope on which they are located to create a strong interaction with the topography and at the same time giving a predominant visual view towards the valley.
According to the program, the building hosts a residence for a couple of architects and a room used for wine tasting classes and meetings. It provides a plan with a certain degree of indeterminacy and flexibility for future use, giving the possibility both to integrate the spaces later and to extend the residence to a third floor.
In the materials used, the elevation is characterized by concrete blocks, which contrast chromatically with the four yellow lacquered metal panels that regulate the entrance of light into the large wine tasting room, a space that then becomes a large terrace for the residence on the upper floor. The latter has a wooden pergola that protects it from the sun.
The interior flooring marks the transition from one room to another, while custom-made wooden furnishings also act as partitions, guaranteeing a certain degree of flexibility.
