Virgil Abloh, pionieer of contemporary creativity, dies at the age of 41

Stylist, DJ and designer, Virgil Abloh redefined contemporary creative scenarios.

From the underpaid and frustrating internship with Kanye West in Rome at Fendi, to their partnership with Yeezy, then through his Off-White brand up to becoming creative director of Luis Vuitton menswear in 2018: Virgil Abloh – a graduate in Architecture – was a man with an eclectic personality, who crossed creative fields, mixing fashion with music, visual arts and interior design.

Virgil Abloh has fully embodied the figure of the multidisciplinary creative, as well as the great communicator, capable of getting his message on inclusivity to a vast audience – and in particular to young people – as few others have managed to do.

In September of this year he shared with Domus the rules and strategies of his “Duchampian” approach to creation.
