The Fondazione Piaggio is commemorating Giovanni Michelucci (1891-1990), 15 years after his death, with more than 120 sketches, about a hundred lithographs and four models. The work of the Pistoia architect is divided into three sections: “Views of the city”, with the drawings related to the reconstruction of the area around Florence’s Ponte Vecchio after the 1966 flood; “Dialogues with nature” about the close relationship between nature and urban landscape; and “The theatre city” which emphasizes that in Michelucci’s opinion, theatre was the best model for an ideal city.
