To be more exact, the evolution of the concept of intimacy in contemporary society, both in the private dwelling and in the public domain. Looking into the issue, a series of events in various parts of the city have been organised to take place over a ten day period. These include three architecture exhibitions, 12 debates and an international congress (4-5 October), in which will be taking part Winka Dubbeldam (Archi-tectonics), Hani Rashid (Asymptote) and Kamiel Klaasse (NL Architects), there will also be special events, parties and workshops.
Forming the backbone of the whole initiative is however the selection of 84 media works (video, internet and multimedia) on architecture, featuring famous names such as Frank Gehry, Eric Owen Moss, Oosterhuis Associates, Mario Cucinella, Arata Isozaki. As well as a number that pay homage to greats from the past (Le Corbusier, Alvar Aalto e Aldo Rossi).
The event not to be missed? Probably that of the evening of 7 October when a number of cinematic works will be screened (two short films and one full length feature), made between 1965 and 1969 by a young Rem Koolhaas. Also showing are a number of videos by Superstudio (such as “Supersurface” presented in 1972 at the New York exhibition “Italy the new domestic landscape) introduced by Adolfo Natalini himself.
