Europan 7 launched

The new edition of Europan focuses on the city outskirts. Designing suburban spaces which include residential variety and urban redesign is the challenge which architects under forty all over Europe will be invited to take on. The main aim is to propose new housing types – loft, triplex, duplex, simplex with terraces, gardens and courtyards – which are flexible and can be transformed with the changing needs of the occupants.

Each participant can choose to study a site from those proposed by the 17 organising countries. These are Tallinn in Estonia, Zagreb and Split in Croatia, Drancy, Nanterre and Reims in France, Riga in Lettonia, Graz, Saltzburg and Vienna in Austria, Monza Pordenone, Gorizia, Bagheria and Pescara in Italy. The official launch of the competition will be 14-15-16 February at Cordoba with a meeting between the organisers from each country and the participants.
