What do the Kentish Town Library, the Great Court at the British Museum and the park/memorial dedicated to the Princess of Wales have in common? Or the Cutty Sark Gardens and the Women’s Library? Whilst differing in terms of use – libraries, gardens, memorials, social buildings… - and size as well as being designed by different architects, all these projects go to make up the "best" of British public building.
Underlining the notion that improving the quality of life in individual areas of a city such as London starts with good architectural design, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is holding an exhibition (from 10 May to 30 June) showing thirty recent buildings designed by as many architectural practices.
