The architecture of Steven Holl on show in Vienna

Dedicated to the personality and work of the American architect Steven Holl is the first major monographic exhibition at the “new” Architektur Zentrum in Vienna, which for a few months has changed house to move inside the Museums Quartier.

The sensations in space and time provide a “pre-theoretical” ground for architecture, where thoughts and ideas blend and overlap and, in the case of Holl, transform with beautiful sketches painted in watercolours. This is the point of departure and the idea behind the exhibition which, through images, models and photographs, offer insight into the creative process which he has brought (and brings) to his most noted works: the Bellevue Art Museum of Washington, the competition entry for the Musée de Confluences in Lyon – won by Coop Himmelb(l)au – the Contemporary art museum Kiasma in Helsinki.

On the occasion of its inauguration, April 11 at 6:30 p.m., Holl himself will hold a brief lecture.
