Architecture, models and numbers by Architect Leon Battista Alberti on show in Mantova

This exhibition dedicated to the work of Genova-born Leon Battista Alberti is at the Casa del Mantegna until the 30th of September. There will be scale models of the University of Edinburgh by the Alberti Group, co-ordinated by Joseph Rykwert and Robert Tavernor, made for the large exhibition at the Palazzo Te on the architect who lives in Rome. The models are machined automatically by the use of dimensional data of the structures from ‘De re aedificatoria’, a useful resource for incomplete or modified aspects of the architecture. The restoration work has been executed under the supervision of Professor Felice Ragazzo. Casa del Mantegna, via Acerbi 47, Mantova, Italia tel. +39.0376.360506 monday closed, admission free
