Glowing, luxurious and bold, Dubai's urban landscape has a ultra-modern vision of architecture, which is constantly evolving and under construction. Here we can find the Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world (828 meters), or artificial islands housing luxury hotels and exclusive residences. In the capital of one of the seven United Arab Emirates in 2020 will also be held the next World Expo.
The city gives its best at night, when it becomes a real artificial star shining between the desert and the coast, with the light that becomes the protagonist and integrates perfectly with the futuristic forms of the skyline. For this reason, Dubai is one of the most interesting markets for the lighting sector and every year hosts Light Middle East, a fair dedicated to decorative lighting, technology, components and building automation.
During this year's edition, which took place from 15 to 17 October 2019, the LME Awards were given to the best innovations, products and personalities linked to the world of lighting design. Linea Light Group was one of the protagonists of the event with two important awards in the categories "Decorative Table Lamp of the Year" and "Decorative Wall Lighting Product of the Year". The winning products are respectively Fante di Stilnovo, a pioneering brand for decorative lighting in Italy in the 1940s which was recently acquired by Linea Light Group, and Reflexio, produced by Ma&De, which in 2018 had already been awarded the IF Design Award.
In addition to these, the Neolight studio received the Public Realm & Landscape Lighting Project of the Year award for the Bluewaters Island project in Dubai, where numerous solutions produced by Linea Light Group were adopted. Finally, the Read Steady Light competition, held for the first time this year by various groups of independent lighting designers, awarded a project using lighting products from the Treviso group such as Archiline PRO (also awarded the IF Design Award 2018), Xenia, Periskop, Dirigo and Ryo.
