TAF Studio designs a slim and elegant wooden chair for Artek

For the Atelier Chair, Swedish designers were inspired by a historic seat by architect Sven Markelius and use only locally produced wood.

Atelier Chair is a sober wooden chair with slender proportions. Designed by TAF Studio for Artek, the furniture is now used for the public and private spaces of the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, a neoclassical complex built in 1866 and housing one of Sweden’s most important art collections.

To deal with the monumental spaces of the museum, as well as with the paintings by Perugino and Rembrandt, you need an elegant chair with essential details. TAF Studio was inspired by a historic chair designed by Swedish architect Sven Markelius at the beginning of the 20th century.

Atelier Chair is used in the public and private spaces of the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, one of the largest art collections in Sweden

Atelier Chair is made entirely of solid wood, using only local species. Comfortable and versatile, light and easily stackable, Artek’s product is available in different materials and colours: oak, ash, beech, black, green or dark red.
