The Omo X is an electric scooter equipped with autonomous driving capabilities usually reserved for high-tier electric cars. Thanks to its "Halo Pilot" system, the two-wheeler by Omoway — a company funded by former X-Peng executives — features self-parking, self-balancing, and remote summon functions. The company demonstrated the system with a spectacular launch event in Jakarta, where the scooter dramatically drove itself onto the stage.
The Omo X also features adaptive cruise control, collision warning, emergency brake assist and blind spot monitoring. With its blocky and futuristic aesthetic, the scooter resembles a cross between BMW's CE series and the classic Piaggio Hexagon scooter.
Early reports suggest that the Omo X will be launched in early 2026 at a projected price of around €3,500, which would position it in the mid-premium segment, above basic e-scooters but below luxury electric motorcycles.

While the Omo X’s technology is impressive, it may be difficult to win over buyers in Asian markets, where ruggedness and low maintenance costs are usually prioritised over cutting-edge capabilities.
Conversely, Western markets may be attracted by the combination of advanced technology and competitive pricing that Chinese manufacturers can offer. The success of brands like Zontes in scooter-friendly countries such as Italy demonstrates the growing European acceptance of Chinese two-wheelers when they offer value without compromising on quality. For Omoway, the challenge will be to balance their ambitious technological vision with different market realities around the world.
