A hotel in Verona entirely dedicated to street art

To create the Muraless Art Hotel, which mixes hôtellerie with street art, more than 50 internationally renowned artists were involved, who have brought the former Hotel Cristallo back to life.

Born from the desire of Gianmaria Villa to revive the former Hotel Cristallo in Verona – in Veneto, Italy – through a radical redevelopment in the sign of street art, the project of the four-star Muraless Art Hotel was coordinated by Project Manager Laura Sancassani and elaborated by the curator and critic Chiara Canali, in collaboration with Deodato Arte.

The façade is signed by Thierry Guetta, aka Mr Brainwash, and represents the first artwork of the American artist of French origins in Italy. Inside, the 94 rooms and the common areas were created by over fifty Italian and international street artists, including: Joys, Etnik, Wubik, Frode, Gatto, Mister Thoms, MrFijodoor, Neve, Cheone, Vesod, Seacreative, Refreshink, Casciu, Luca Font, Ufo5, Ale Puro, Coquelicot Mafille, Nais, Senso, Octofly, Chill Surrealism, Luogocomune, Rise and Soler.

The concept behind the renovation is celebrating cultural excellence “Made in Italy” through the different codes of street art, with different tools and creative techniques, from areosol art to stencil, from paste up to free hand painting, from lettering to 3D modeling, from graphics to digital photography, from comics to illustration, touching different styles, from figurative to abstract, from hyperrealism to anamorphosis.
