DJI introduces a new First Person View drone that's easy to fly

The company's new FPV system is poised to disrupt the FPV segment of the drone market with a unique solution that's ready to fly out of the box, even if you're a beginner.

In 2016, with the introduction of the Mavic series, DJI disrupted the commercial drones market with a portable and lightweight drone that was extremely easy to fly, recorded high-quality video, and started driving down the price of semi-professional drones. The company is trying to do the same now for another segment of the broader drones market: First Person View (FPV) drones.
The new DJI FPV system, introduced today, is a complete reboot of what DJI has been doing with its FPV drones so far. By bringing together that experience and most of the Mavic series's popular features, the company has created a new hybrid drone that's both an easy-to-fly FPV quadcopter and a capable 4K/60fps stabilized flying camera.

The new FPV system includes three flight modes: Normal, Sport, and Manual. Normal is a semi-autonomous mode for complete beginners. Sport keeps in place safety features such as object detection but unlocks more power and riskier manoeuvres. Manual is for the pilot extraordinaire who wants full and unbridled control over the flying experience. With a top speed of 140km/h and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100Km/h in two seconds, the FPV System drone can indeed be a hard-to-tame flying speed demon.

Thanks to DJI's O3 connection technology, the FPV System can fly up to 10km away from the user, who's still able to experience the First Person View on their wearable visor. The "Return to Home" mode ensures that the drone can stop and fly back to the starting point autonomously in case of emergency.
DJI FPV System is available starting today, online or in any DJI store, with a price of 1349€ for the bundle that includes the drone, a second-generation visor, and a standard joypad-like controller. For an extra 149€, users can buy an additional "Motion" controller, a completely new joystick that let users control the drone intuitively with the movement of o a single hand.
