The performance at the Museo del Novecento on 26 September is the Milanese episode of a project that lasted over a year, curated by Gabi Scardi and realized by the Fondazione Wurmkos in collaboration with the Cooperativa Lotta contro l’Emarginazione, and with the contribution of Clara Rota with the bassasARToria laboratory. It will be followed by an exhibition, which opens on 15 October, at the Farmacia Wurmkos in Sesto San Giovanni, where, in addition to the clothes, part of the preparatory materials will also be on display.
A great energy sees 19 performers living in the garments designed in the workshops that from September 2018, four artists – Francesco Bertelé, Francesca Marconi, Margherita Morgantin and Wurmkos – have created. The collection has been conceived around the idea of dress, understood both as a significant interface between body and space, between person and world, and as an element capable of revealing attitudes and aspirations, interpreting the relationship of the individual with himself and others.
The workshops were held at Farmacia Wurmkos in Sesto San Giovanni and have seen a varied participation, conveying the energies of different young people in transition, united by the willingness to express their own individual creative potential and to contribute to a shared project.
After a first phase of research, reflection and exchange, each laboratory has produced, thanks to the support of Clara Rota, a collection of unique garments.
