Seed. Design actions for the future returns to Umbria for its third edition, transforming Perugia into a laboratory of ideas from 25 to 28 September. This year, Seed joins forces with Domus in a collaboration of shared visions, values and reflections on the role of culture in meeting the challenges of today's world.
The festival, to be held in 2021, stands out for its innovative approach to design culture in relation to the humanities and sciences, in order to understand how best to face the great challenges of our time. Equilibri, the theme of the 2024 edition, highlights the instabilities that characterise the 21st century, from global conflicts and social inequalities to environmental disasters.
The use of the plural "balances" stems from the need to make it clear that there is no such thing as a stable and permanent state of equilibrium, so Seed's aim is to work on complex systems with a more fluid approach, adaptable to frequent and sudden changes.
Architects, designers, scientists, philosophers and artists have been invited to address these issues and contribute to the four days of the event.
The event is organised and promoted by the Guglielmo Giordano Foundation E.T.S. in collaboration with the National Institute of Architecture and other important organisations in the fields of architecture, design, urbanism, universities and research.
