Venice Biennale 2023, title of Italian Pavilion unveiled

It's called “SPAZIALE: Ognuno appartiene a tutti gli altri” (“spatial: everyone belongs to everyone else”). The project is based on architecture as a collective practice and not as a personal artifact.

The title of the Italian Pavilion at 18. Mostra Internazionale di Architettura - La Biennale di Venezia, curated by the Fosbury Architecture collective, will be SPAZIALE: Ognuno appartiene a tutti gli altri (SPATIAL: Everyone belongs to everyone else).

The project will be divided into two parts, the first preparatory to the second: Spaziale presenta (Spatial presents), from January to April 2023, will see the activation of nine site-specific interventions in as many places in the Italian territory; and SPAZIALE: Ognuno appartiene a tutti gli altri, within the Italian Pavilion, from 20 May to 26 November 2023 will show the formal and theoretical synthesis of the processes triggered in these nine places.

The project is based on the vision of Fosbury Architecture that architecture is a research practice beyond the construction of artifacts, and design is always the result of collective and collaborative work, which exceeds the idea of the architect-author. The “space” is considered, in this vision, as a physical and symbolic place, a geographical area, and an abstract dimension, a system of known references and a territory of possibilities.
