Chit Fund Office

Architectural studio Design Experiment had the task to rehabilitate the image of a Chit Funds Office in India, giving it a sense of openness and transparency.

Design Experiment renovated an old building in Telangana, India, for the local Prajay Chits Fund Office. Chit funds are companies that manage people’s savings in India, and that have lately been through several scandals. The design had the mission to open up the space to the public underlying Prajay’s values.

The entire office needed to be designed and built in 45 days, so the designers chose to go with a design language that would try to stand out without disrespecting its surroundings: a brick facade would be detailed specifically to be rapidly constructed. The second task was creating an identity not only through its space but through its brand identity. The interiors of the building combine environmental graphics of simple minimal quality with clean aesthetic to emphasize the company’s values.
