A House

Korean studio Gebdesign realised a single family house in Yong-in – the A House, whose main space features a triple height opening and connects diverse spaces.

The A House is located in Yong-In, South Korea, which is recently developing rapidly. The building is a place where privacy is maintained, with openings and rooms merged in a continuous space defined by an A-shape. The simple volume and a gable roof came from the strict application of local urban regulations and result reflected the client request.

The main space of the A House features a triple height opening and connects diverse spaces. Some spaces get light directly and other spaces get it through filtering, which is light that comes into a space and is spread into another space. Also, other architectural components such as walls, doors, stairs and window frames are customized on site and designed to be harmonized with color white.
