Moroso: new contract

Back to outdoor furniture, ropes and coloured textiles: this is how Moroso conceived the new contract scene with a full range of new products seen at Salone del Mobile.Milano.

The furniture showcased by Moroso at the Salone del Mobile.Milano goes back to the main categories of contract and outdoor furniture, responding to the demands arising from a new conception of hospitality in which hotels are no longer frigid monuments reiterating the same design in every property, but instead, welcoming, comfortable places where guests can feel a bit more at home.

The design of the stand, conceived by Patricia Urquiola and Patrizia Moroso, transplant the ancient gestures of weaving into the exhibition space, reinterpreting the loom in a contemporary key, setting the ropes in a visual interplay of horizontal and vertical lines. The “going back to basics” approach is enhanced by the choice of colours and materials – red, blue, cardboard, unfaced MDF, painted iron, and rope.

New designs come from Patricia Urquiola, Doshi Levien, Ron Arad, Gordon Guillaumier, Tord Boontje, Nendo, Benjamin Hubert, Anne Timerman and Eugene Timerman, David Weeks, Martino Gamper, Marc Thorpe, Scholten & Baijings and Edward van Vliet, as well as major architects such as AL_A Studio, founded by Amanda Levete, and contemporary artists such as Olafur Eliasson. The great variety of furniture includes sofas, chairs, amacas, tables, upholstered seatings and shelves. Materials range from outdoor technical textiles to ropes, glass and wood, crafted in geometrical and distinctive shapes.
