HermèsHome

The host of new designs from HermèsHome includes stools and a bench by Álvaro Siza in bamboo reinforced with carbon fibre and a cast-bronze table by Barber & Osgerby. #MDW2017

Designed by Charlotte Macaux-Perelmann – artistic director of Hermès Maison with Alexis Fabry –, the large pavilion of the French label is a Mediterranean house with lime whitewashed walls and floors in bricks, handmade in Umbria. The minimal structure inspired by stables, the place where the Hermès adventure as a producer of horse harnesses began in 1837, contains the new furnishings, accessories, fabrics and wallpapers by the French house.

The many sophisticated new ideas include Karumi by Álvaro Siza: two stools (triangular and square) and a bench produced by Japanese masters who have combined carbon fibre and bamboo to give rise to an extremely robust but lightweight material mix; the low Aes table by Barber & Osgerbyinvestment cast bronze, a monolith resembling a metal beam or rail-track; and the Pierre Charpin’s lacquer and leather trinket trays. The beautiful final touch is added by wallpapers by Turin illustrator Gianpaolo Pagni.
