The state of the art was rather critical: the entrance opened on an endless nine meters corridor that would end on a blank wall, dividing the rooms. It was decided to reverse the functions, bringing the living area to the sunniest exposure, while offering the bedroom a quiet spot facing the inner courtyard.

The layout of the house was completely changed: a large open space would host a central wooden volume with implemented functions such as a kitchen and the walk-in closet. This important element is a custom made piece of furniture: it was mounted in a few days and consists of an iron frame with profiles of 40x40 mm, coated with beech plywood panels (18 mm thick) whose linear joints were subsequently covered by a further iron frame (20x20 mm). The original floors made of hexagonal cement tiles were restored.
