Directed by Silvia Lucchesi, the ninth edition of the Florentine exhibition analyzes the relationship between cinema and contemporary art. Ten films and artists’ documentaries have been specially selected for the Venetian public. It starts with Marcie Begleiter who dedicated a film to the American artist Eva Hesse, followed by the movie A Brief Story of Princess X by Gabriel Abrantes, where the artist converses ironically on the composition of the famous sculpture by Constantin Brancusi, and Ismyrne by Lebanese duo Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, who investigate the concepts of identity and through the words of poet and artist Etel Adnan.
