cc-tapis new collection
Also this year, cc-tapis presents a new range of designers’ rugs at imm cologne, all handknotted in Nepal with Himalayan wool and pure silk, for floors and walls.
The new projects by cc-tapis presented at imm cologne 2017 each have their own distinct personality but share a focus on materials. We find works from Zaven, Garth Roberts, Federico Pepe, Daniele Lora, Christophe Delcourt and Chiara Andreatti.
The designers have expressed their different sensibilities, which all have in common the artisanal capabilities of cc-tapis. This union between creativity and craftsmanship opened to a combination of unique knotting techniques, hues and designs: Zo and Chipo by Zaven were inspired by traditional African masks, After Party by Garth Roberts was inspired by the world of celebration, while N.N.N. by Federico Pepe is always graphic in his style.
The series of Wall hangings Lanolin by Daniele Lora explore and research raw Himalayan wool; LE(S)S and LA(C)K by Christophe Delcourt play with natural fibres and artisanal dyeing techniques to achieve unique chromatic effects. Stitch by Chiara Andreatti puts sewing at first, recalling traditional nomadic drawings, applied after the rug has been weaved.
