Moroccan tiles

Atelier Zelij creates a mix of influences reinterpreting the art of zellige: the traditional Moroccan handcrafted glazed clay tiles, beautiful in its irregularity.

Atelier Zelij, Sculptural collection, 2016
Born from the meeting designers Samir Mazer and Delphine Laporte, Atelier Zelij fuses Moroccan cultural richness with design and craftsmanship, creating mosaics and ceramic tiles that can be easily transported and mounted.

Sculptural is the latest addition to their zellige collections – the traditional Maroccan glazed tiles made from white clay – and explores space in all its dimensions, playing with shapes and colors. This collection is reminiscent of the Beaux-Arts background of Samir Mazer and his sensibility for sculpture. The pieces come in pre-assembled and pre-grouted panels with a dedicated packaging to be exported all around the world from Morocco.
