Mexican designer Juskani Alonso redescovers the prehispanic crafting techniques and applies ancient color dyes to his latest wooden furniture collection.

Juskani Alonso starts from the research and application of natural dyes, to rediscover the ancient pre-hispanic techniques and hues that have survived until today. Color Natural is a new collection of modular wooden furniture presented within Territorio Creativo during Mexico Design Week.

During the design process he implements the prehispanic codes, leading to a development of the basic modules of the entire collection. Alonso carries out numerous studies on how the objects shapes are conditioned according to the woods chromatic effects. The collection consists of a poplar wood module, with steel applications and natural cowhide. The making process combines industrial and handicraft production.
