Vienna City Rooms
At the Vienna Design Week studio Kuehn Malvezzi designed City Rooms a space where seatings are protagonists within the Vitra Showroom, with Artek and Kvadrat.
Enel extends the date to join the international “WinDesign” contest to August 30, 2025. A unique opportunity to imagine the new design of wind turbines.

As part of the Program Partners of the Vienna Design Week, the Finnish design firm Artek and the Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat presented the installation City Room in the Vitra Showroom, designed by Berlin-based studio Kuehn Malvezzi.
Seen for the first time at the collectors’ lounge at Design-Miami/Basel 2016, City Room is an installation where seating furniture keeps to a specific arrangement, resulting in islands. It is a graphic scenery in different colors and textile combinations, both with strong contrasting and neutral monochrome.
Several “city rooms” – inspired among others by those of Adolf Loos – together generate a multi-stratified landscape, where the central cubes create inverted surfaces and massive rooms, forming a distinctive environment for Artek’s Kiki Kollektion. In 1960 Kiki was created by the finish designer Ilmari Tapiovaara and has been now remodeled for Kvadrat with fabrics by Raf Simons.
