Architectural bake-off

This June, Zaha Hadid Architects, Foster + Partners, Squire and Partners and Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio will battle to recreate the world’s most iconic buildings, out of cake.

WATG’s Great Architectural Bake-Off returns to the London Festival of Architecture this June, inviting some prestigious names in architecture to recreate the world’s most iconic buildings, out of cake.

Zaha Hadid Architects, Foster + Partners, Squire and Partners and Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio will battle it out in Fitzroy Square to be crowned the winner of the coveted best culinary-architect title. Teams will be provided with basic construction tools and are encouraged to experiment with their use of edible ingredients; last year’s entrants incorporated sculpted sugar glass, jelly and edible silver spray into their creations.

The event is part of the London Festival of Architecture Open Studios series, which sees over 50 London practices open their doors to the public: providing an insight into the thriving architectural and design scene in the capital.
