The collection of objects Équilibre d’Hermès meanwhile uses refined materials and finishes – Taurillon H, wicker and brass – to create a series of elegant and ironic objects that act as an invitation to appreciate the minimal gestures of everyday. These include a magnifying glass in precarious equilibrium on a conical support, a paperweight with a icosahedron shape (achieved using a method developed by the Maison in the 1920s), a magazine holder with a saddle shape and a lectern in leather that seems tailor-made for resting a book on.
Finally Irish architect and illustrator Nigel Peake has created a series of delicate watercolours that feature on wallpaper, upholstery-fabric and three decorative panels, A Walk in the City
