Following on from Contact (about interaction between passengers) and The Fun of Driving (about the driving experience), in Outward-Looking  – the concluding section of the triptych Experience in Motion – attention shifts from the vehicle itself to the surroundings and how we experience these.
Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe investigate how the car will change the world of tomorrow and to what extent we will enjoy and value this world. For this third and last part they have created a spatial conceptual car design that references architecture and the surroundings.

Boosted by rapid technological advances, we are seeing radical changes both in cars themselves and in our experience of driving. Niels van Eijk and Miriam van der Lubbe examine the implications and explore the possibilities of upcoming developments – both for cars and for the way we experience them. The triptych is an invitation to enter a broad-based and open debate on the future of our holy cow.

The presentation is part of an overview exhibition that also includes work by all participants in the Volvo Design Challenge 2015.
