Here we propose a short selection of projects published on Domus Web in which the wood is the protagonist.
Bernd Riegger used wood for the Waldsetzkasten (“forest display case”) in Wolfurt, Austria, a forest hut where children and their teachers can shelter and sojourn during periods of very poor weather conditions; in Vega Cottage, designed by Kolman | Boye Architects not far from the polar circle, it is chosen to give a contemporary interpretation of the Naust, the Norwegian traditional seaside huts; the bamboo cladding is an homage to the local traditions in the Courtyard House designed by Atelier Sacha Cotture in Paranaque City, Philippines; it is decisive in consolidating the work within its urban interaction in Las Negras Waterfront designed by Spanish studio Jesús Torres García.
