Designed by Nendo for Desalto, the Softer than Steel Collection is made up of low tables, benches, wall containers, a chair and a coat stand.

In the words of the designer: “A section of a bench has flipped up and turned into the backrest. Poles wrap around each other to become a coat stand. By adding flipped, bent and wrapped details to metal shhets and rods, the ordinarily hard metal gains new functionality and a light, flexible feel, as thug the metal has become paper or cloth”.
