A corner of the Moroso stand given over to the Serenissima collection epitomises Venice as seen through the eyes of Giorgia and Daniele. This furnishing series is the first industrial design by the two young designers, fresh out of the Salone Satellite where they met and impressed Patrizia Moroso. The colours and the structural features of the city in the lagoon are there too.

The Il Doge chair includes tubular structures that, in their simplicity, conserve the memory of the walkways adopted for pedestrian transit on the days of high water. The seat covering in silk, soft and as light as a drape, promotes a decorative representation of the plaster corroded by salty air.
Fabrics play a huge role in this project, the initial concept of which envisaged an even higher back than was eventually chosen, so that the colours and their texture would lend an even stronger connotation to the entire chair. The Acqua Alta fabrics were specially produced by Rubelli and employed exclusively by Moroso for Il Doge. Two light quilts covered with Acqua Alta fabric pose on padded backs to become a distinguishing mark.
This unconventional armchair invites the sitter to find their own favourite and is flanked by two small tables inspired by the same idea, i.e. to convey the movements of the water. In them, the water submerges the walkways and translates into glass tops in shades typical of the lagoon, with wooden pieces set above and below the top.
