Laminam Expo

Laminam Expo is opening to the public and is planning its launch featuring a work that is the outcome of the collaboration between Alessandra Stefani, art gallery owner Federico Lugér and artist Luca Pozzi.

“Today, simply presenting products is no longer enough: they need to be brought to life, placed in context within a story.” This is the philosophy followed by Alessandra Stefani, Vice Chairman and Image & Communication manager at Laminam, during the creation of the new showroom at Fiorano Modenese, based on artistic and somewhat futuristic installations.

Laminam is a surface that brings design and architectural projects to life. “Nowadays, architects are no longer bound to conventional structures and can enjoy the freedom of wider horizons to give their designs new shapes and forms that are increasingly inspired by nature and the greatness of nature. So we are seeing diamond and sail-shaped ceilings, buildings and high-rises that soar up to the sky with their helical lines. Laminam, the laminate ceramic, is a skin that can take on any shape, making it an ideal solution that moulds itself to new lifestyle concepts,” explains Alessandra Stefani.

The space basically consists of three stations: the <i>Percorso lastre libere</i> (“free slab path”) installation, designed by Alessandra Stefani, aims to recreate a passage through nature. A pure slab rises up from the ground, like a tree, surrounded by moss, lichen and stones. It is a double switch path, allowing visitors to experience different surfaces, a bit like you would in a forest. The things you see when you walk down the path in one direction are different to what you will notice on the way back. The lounge kitchen in the left wing is just as less impressive, made entirely using Laminam sheets to create a monolith that is over 5 metres tall: a multi-purpose space, a work station that is perfectly integrated into the living area. The last and most important area houses the work of artist Luca Pozzi: a 160 sqm façade. A building of the future that uses conceptual windows to reveal the dialogue that Laminam the company and Laminam the surface create with the world day by day. Laminam decided on these applications to showcase its personal preferences as well as solutions for the niche markets it believes to be most significant. The exercise was only possible because of the underlying commitment of all those involved. Forging relationships with artists who apparently share no ties with the world of business give our slabs artistic and aesthetic appeal; the added bonus of “integrated systems”.

As Alessandra Stefani states: “We wanted to give Laminam a living space, a free lifestyle, a home, a temple of ideas. Just as slabs are free from the constraints of cuts and limitations, this expo wants to help the public experience the inherent elements of this surface: total freedom and seamless planarity. A container filled with the day to day spaces of our homes and offices, running seamlessly one after the other. So, we are no working with a static showcase or a display of product frames. This is not a showroom based on a collection of samples (as is usually the case with ceramics): it’s a thriving, breathing, living space. Plunging the public into a saturated atmosphere of genuine freedom.”
