Stortplaats van Dromen / Esterni

Dross and leftover materials create potential architecture and design practices in the hands of this Dutch studio.

The Dutch collective Stortplaats van Dromen returns to Milan with a Foundation project for the second consecutive year at the Public Design Festival by Esterni.

The recipe remains the same: a shop-constructed project using waste materials found in situ. As always, the results are unpredictable, demonstrating a manifesto for a sustainable architectural practice that shuns customary consumer mechanisms applied to resources in the contemporary city. The same approach is found in the work of their office in Utrecht, where they focus on architecture, interiors and furniture design. This time, they are showing Taverna, a bar serving typical Dutch products prepared by them, on the Cavalcavia Bussa until 17 April.
