Italian designer Emanuele Pizzolorusso presents a smart
project that could also be very useful.
Rome is a city full of walking paths and full of tourists, and
it's hot during the summer, right?
What these tourists might not be familiar with, is that
together with its heritage of ruins, palazzis, museums,
churches and piazzas, the Eternal City is well equipped
with public fountains, historically the mean used to
distribute drinkable water to the folks. From the famous
Fontana di Trevi down to the most humble "fontanelle",
there is absolutely no reason for a tourist to bring around
– and then waste – plastic bottles containing water.
By marking on the map of the centre of Rome the sources
of public water and then printing it on a soft, multi-layer
package that doubles as flask, the designer opens the way
to the massive use of an important resource currently not
enhanced by the tourist authorities.
