A showroom in Porto Cervo breaks with the codes of seaside retail

Designed by Gonzalez Haase AAS, the latest store opened by Modes recreates a distinctly urban atmosphere by the sea, with mirrored surfaces and fluorescent colors standing out against a background dominated by gray.

We are in Porto Cervo, but we could be anywhere where contemporaneity imposes its latest dictates of coolness. For its new luxury clothing store in the exclusive Sardinian resort town, the Modes brand has entrusted the interior design project to the Berlin architectural studio Gonzalez Haase AAS, according them a sort of carte blanche free of constraints and expectations.

The vision imposed by the German architects does not seek any assonance with the local context or with a generic "southern" connotation, but prefers an urban setting for the over three hundred square meters arranged on three levels where the uniform gray of the backgrounds comes alive thanks to the vivid chromatic inserts of the displays and the reflective and mirrored surfaces. Even the lighting design seems to prefer the call of the north, recreating through flat lights on the ceiling the atmospheric environments of northern shores.
