In a Chinese skincare store, beauty is an extraterrestrial affair

Lialawlab's project in Hangzhou gives life to interiors similar to extra-planetary colonies dominated by the unavoidable presence of grey.

Architecture is undoubtedly one of the most powerful vehicles for expressing the values of a brand. In the case of Formoral, a skincare brand whose new store has just opened in Huanzou, the idea of care and rediscovered beauty is not expressed through references to the natural world.

Rather, it is technology that is valued as a saving catalyst. Resembling a space colony, the project curated by the lialawlab architecture applies a uniform gray color, marked only by textures of different grain and roughness, and uses arches and sections of spheres to create paths, furniture and cocoons distributed among the 120 square-meter surface. The thoughtful use of color intervenes to break this mesmerizing dominant: video projections light up the space with small pink portions, simulating the irruption of a wider luminous and sensory context.
