Custom colors and materials: B&O puts a stop to identical audio devices

The historic Danish brand introduces Bang & Olufsen Atelier, a service that lets you customize every product in their lineup with a variety of colors and materials. Atelier Editions are also making their debut.

Atelier. This is Bang & Olufsen’s newest approach to luxury and exclusivity. Since the 1800s, the “craftsman’s workshop” has been a place where personal taste and individuality are brought to life. Now, the same promise is being extended by the master craftsmen at the company’s headquarters in Struer, Denmark. Thanks to their expertise, customers at select Bang & Olufsen stores can let their creativity run wild, choosing from a range of colors and materials to make each product truly one-of-a-kind.

“When we build an Atelier product at Bang & Olufsen, we create not just a set of speakers with superior sound and impeccable craftsmanship, but an extension of a customer’s personality and style. Our goal is to deliver an experience and a product that deeply resonate with our audience, fostering a lasting relationship between Bang & Olufsen and the customer,” says Kristian Teär, CEO of Bang & Olufsen.

Atelier was conceived not only to meet the demand for personalization but also to allow customers to put their unique touch on what is already recognized as iconic. It’s about becoming part of the brand’s legacy, joining an exclusive club that appreciates design and craftsmanship.

Customization options are available for every product – from speakers to headphones. With more than 500,000 possible combinations of fabrics, wood, aluminum finishes, and colors, customers can craft a product that reflects their unique vision. Additionally, Bang & Olufsen has launched “Atelier Editions,” an exclusive series of catalog products available online or in stores for a limited time. These include items like Beoplay earphones in lime green or peach pink, and Beosound speakers with lilac frames and twilight panels. New models will be introduced throughout the year, with a countdown on the official website emphasizing their exclusivity.

To mark the launch of Atelier, the Limited Edition Beosound 2 Gradient will debut, featuring ten different shade combinations inspired by emotions and shaped by sound. Each shade is limited to ten uniquely engraved and numbered units. This Wi-Fi multiroom speaker, which occupies the space of a table lamp, is crafted entirely from aluminum and polymers, with enough power to fill a large room. It natively supports Apple AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Google Cast, Tidal Connect, B&O Radio, Deezer, and QPlay 2.0. It can also be paired with other B&O multiroom or surround solutions. The power supply is wired and integrated.
