The comeback of Plico, the trolley designed by Richard Sapper for Alessi

The Italian design company presents a re-edition of piece of furniture, originally designed in 1976.

Alessi presents a re-edition of Plico, a trolley originally conceived in 1976 by the designer Richard Sapper, already author of other iconic objects of the Italian company such as the espresso coffee maker 9090 (1978) and the kettle 9091 (1983).

Made of plastic and steel, Plico is a folding trolley that can be easily adapted, with its two tops, both as a coffee table and as a worktop. Its versatile functionality and the refined black silhouette make it adaptable to any space.

“That of the folding trolley has always been a central theme for those who deal with the world of domestic objects and small pieces of furniture,” recalls Alberto Alessi, President of Alessi. “Plico immediately reveals itself to be a small masterpiece ‘Sapper-style’: an absolute object capable of fulfilling its function in an impeccable manner, characterized by an aesthetic of strong personality.”
