A bench for socialising in the city

Design duo Front and Norwegian brand Vestre released a cozy urban furniture collection that is versatile, durable and with a domestic design.

The partnership between urban-furbishing company Vestre and Front began with a debate on public spaces and their furnishings. The fact that park benches are rendezvous for those living in the city as well as offering a relaxing break led to the Folk series (bench, bin and bike rack), mixing pine-wood and lacquered aluminium. The aim is to create a versatile and durable collection with an almost domestic aesthetic.

The series is made with aluminium and Swedish pine, treated with linseed oil, growing more silver grey over time. The bench is defined by a central arch in aluminium and is designed for all kinds of weather, with a split seat through which rainwater can run off. The aluminium used in Folk is produced with 100% renewable energy from the Nordic energy company Vattenfall.
