Material combinations and minimal details enrich a Prague apartment

Czech studio Collarch removes the historical stratifications of a flat in a 1950s building, inserting the main facilities into compact cores.

Colours and materials combined with precise and minimal details define the spaces of a flat renovated by Czech studio Collarch in Prague. The residence is located in a 1950s building located in a residential area.

The architects removed all the historical layers, poor quality plaster and non-bearing brick partitions in excess. They reveal the concrete surfaces of the ceilings, which dialogue with the other precious materials introduced.

Whenever possible, Collarch tries to integrate all the service functions and furnishings into compact central cores, which allows free, neutral and open spaces to remain as a backdrop to everyday life.
