A three-month renovation, carried out to move the communication offices of the Czech Republic promotion from the Winternitz villa of Adolf Loos to the unrebuilt buildings of the Karlín palace. Kurz Architects has carried out this renewal, and it has been the pressure of time to shape the design and the client has blindly trusted the architectural firm. In a first phase all traces of the existing premises were erased, so that for the new solution the rough beauty of the supporting structures could be enjoyed. This no doubt saved time. On the other hand, the new complete electricity distribution system, exposed by the panels to the outlets, has allowed electricians to work on the construction until the last day and to react flexibly to the needs of the surface.

Everything that can be seen in the reconstructed rooms combines the old and the functional with the new and elegant, highlighting the not less important Czech identity. Each of the individual elements has a story to tell and provides added value. The division of open space is created by paper tubes that also serve as storage space. The self-supporting partitions were installed during the weekend before the employees opened the Monday, with our assistance and coordination. The chosen color of the polyurethane layer is an ivory color - the color that gave Winternitz Villa the title of "beige princess". Much of the interior decor is the result of a demanding research in antique shops, combined with refurbished armchairs, with even new elements. The largest of the tables - a 750 kg object made of oak wood - is an example of refinement blended with exceptional craftsmanship, emphasizing the dignity of the main meeting room. Those who work in these offices say they feel at home.
