The team from Zagreb made up of Sasa Begovic, Marko Dabrovic, Tanja Grozdanic and Silvije Novak work with an approach that combines architecture, art and urban landscape. For this attractive “outdoor salon” in the old Adriatic centre (a promenade 450 metres long and 45 wide), 3LHD proposed new paving made with large square slabs of concrete, 1.5 metres square, and the restoration of the ancient facade of the nearby Diocletian Palace, one of the centres of the Roman empire and today one of the most beautiful Roman remains in Europe.
The landscape design is the work of Ines Ardic, who has made extensive use of Mediterranean plants while the design of the street furnishing is by the studio For Use/Numen. One final, technological detail is the LED lighting system (Novalux), one of the first to be used in Europe.
