Tempo, Tempo! Marianne Brandt and the Bauhaus

This Berlin exhibit has, for once, put the metal objects which have made Marianne Brandt famous throughout the world, in the background and has focused on her posters and photomontage. These works by the Bauhaus designer are not very well-known but they were fundamental in her confrontation of the important issues debated during the period between the two world wars. These included woman’s role in society, life in big cities and the fascination of technology. E.S.
