Gijs Bakker and Jewelry

“I don’t wear jewels, I drive them.”, in this phrase the Dutch Gijs Bakker sums up his approach to matter. He believes that concept, technique and the research into form and matter can change a piece of jewelry from a decorative element into a true object of design. Through the years, Bakker has put together a notable collection and part of it is being presented in the monograph and catalogue by the Dutch museum in a homage to 45 years of design projects. E.S.
