The first thing that struck you on arrival in Frankfurt for the large German fair for consumer goods, was the glowing hi tech profile of the new pavilion 3 (designed by British architect Nicholas Grimshaw and built in a record 17 months) which forms a pair with the new Forum 2A, opened especially for Tendence 2001 (24-28 August).

The next thing was the organisational capacity of Messe Frankfurt (a world potential which handles an impressive 100 fairs) able to organise around 4,800 exhibitors (about half of which are German) from over 80 countries. according to different themes.

But the new aspects which Tendence had in store for us also regarded the organisation of the range of categories on exhibition, grouped under three main headings Table & Kitchen, Präsent & Carat and Domus & Gallery which took up the whole of the fair area.
