At Houghton Hall, a historic country residence located near the coastal area of the Norfolk county, England, the works of the famous British sculptor Anish Kapoor are on display, following other exhibitions already presented by the Houghton Arts Foundation, such as those dedicated to James Turrell (2015), Richard Long (2017), Damien Hirst (2018) and Henry Moore (2019). The exhibition had planned to open in March 2020 but, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been postponed to July 12th, with the opening to the public scheduled for November 1st, 2020.

The exhibition presents 24 sculptures, as well as a selection of drawings and smaller works representative of the artist’s body of work, created over the last 40 years. Curated by Mario Codognato, the selection includes Sky Mirror (2018), a 5-metre diameter stainless steel mirror that reflects and transforms the space around it.

“Anish Kapoor is a magician. His elegant reflective pieces throw the world back in mysterious ways,” says Lord Cholmondeley, owner of Houghton. “We are proud to have the opportunity to present an important group of Anish Kapoor's works in Houghton, and we are delighted to welcome visitors again.”
