Online exhibition? Better a video game. Manuel Rossner’s latest project for König Galerie

By downloading an app, you will be able to move inside the gallery, climbing on the sculptures, coming into environmental installations and doing many other things that would not be allowed in reality.

Expanding the possibilities of the real in a digital exhibition: this is what Manuel Rossner has done, creating a format much more attractive than the many virtual tours that crowd the web in this historical period. Thanks to the project SURPRISINGLY THIS RATHER WORKS, curated by Anika Meier and Johann König, the German artist has transformed the spaces of the gallery in Berlin, located inside the brutalist church of St. Agnes, into an environment where neon fluo, bright colors, bubbles and rocks suspended in the air become the works with which the visitor can interact.

Just download an app on your smartphone to become an avatar free to walk around the gallery, throw some sculpture to the ground (no one will blame you for this), climb and enter into environmental installations, in a path that climbs for several levels in space. A digital exhibition that works, indeed, and manages for several minutes to capture our attention and concentration much more than many live events could do.
