Two-sided murals: Reskate’s wall paintings around the world

A net becomes a big fish, a tree trunk two hands holding each other: through the use of fluorescent paint, Harreman Project keeps on telling stories around the world.

“Harreman”, in basque means “relationship”. The concept is at the basis of the Harreman Project by the catalan duo Reskate – composed by street artists Maria López and Javier de Riba – which, through the use of fluorescent paint, transform their murals from day to night.

As it happens in Shenzhen, China, that once was a fishing community of 30.000 inhabitants and today is a metropolis of 12 million of people. Connectivity represents a net, in which a glowing fish appears by night. Or Chili Queen, in San Antonio, Texas: a great female face opens her eyes in the dark, transforming herself, as a tribute to the “Chili Queens”, that in this square set up tables to serve tex-mex food all night long. Among the latest achievements, Peace of Belmonte in Portugal, refers to the jewish community’s resistance during the Inquisition under Isabella d’Aragona.
