Side by side, the contrasting faces of creative work by a great name in photography. The contrast between the landscapes and nudes is very strong, especially if they bear the signature of Helmut Newton, known for having redefined, and often broken through, the boundaries of contemporary nude photography. The combination was proposed four years ago, in 2001, at Simon de Pury’s Zurich gallery. More than 80 photographs – in colour and black-and-white, and taken in Europe and America – cover a thirty years of work, opening the door on Newton’s amazing world. L.M.
